Summer In The Studio

It’s that special time of year where linen returns to your wardrobe, ‘tea’ means cold with a wedge of lemon, evening walks linger longer, and color palettes brighten with the blooms outside - in other words - it’s officially summer in the studio!

This season is already off to a busy start. Between travels, I curated a new collection, hopped on a podcast, discovered the *perfect* summer cocktail & so much more. Amidst the hum of activity that accompanies this season, I’m glad to have found a quiet moment to pen this proverbial postcard to say hello & catch you up to speed.

Let’s dive right in my friend!

A PODCAST: FROM ME TO YOU

I was thrilled to join the Up & Up podcast last month for a candid conversation about living BOLDLY and pursuing your passions.

Since going live, there has been an overwhelmingly positive response from people in need of midday pick-me-ups and midlife pulse checks alike.

The conversation is honest. It’s upbeat. It’s grounding. It’s perhaps exactly what you need this Monday morning. Tap either link below and let’s get talkin’ my friend.

SUMMER SIPS

Whether you’re entertaining poolside or soaking up the golden hour solo on the stoop - let me introduce you to the Canoe Club cocktail! Jake and I happened upon it a few years ago at our favorite local dive & loved it so much that we served it as our signature drink at our backyard wedding. It’s zingy, it’s zangy, it’s summer on the panhandle in a glass.

Here’s how to shake yours:

What you need:

1.5 oz. Ilegal Mezcal Añejo

1/4 oz. Crème de Mûre

0.5 oz. Ginger Jalapeño Syrup

0.5 oz. Lime juice

Peychaud’s Aromatic Cocktail Bitters

How to make it:

Measure and add the mezcal, crème de mûre, syrup, and lime juice to a cocktail shaker. Shake to the “sha-la-la-la” of Van Morrison’s Brown Eyed Girl and pour over ice. Add a dash of bitters and this zippy, refreshing cocktail is ready to sip!

Cheers!
